School of Agro-Industry, Mae Fah Luang University proudly extends its congratulations to Associate Professor Dr. Saowapa Chaiwong from the School of Agro-Industry, Mae Fah Luang University, and Associate Professor Dr. Tatiya Trongsatitkul from the Institute of Engineering, Suranaree University of Technology, along with their collaborative research team from both institutions.
The team has successfully developed an integrated, eco-friendly innovation titled “K-dle: eco-friendly cushion”, which was awarded a Silver Medal, along with two Special Awards from INNOPA (Indonesia) and the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), at The 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2026, held from 11–15 March 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland.
This innovative solution features a biodegradable cushioning material made from natural rubber, designed to effectively protect fruits from damage during transportation. The product not only enhances the value of Thai agricultural produce but also supports sustainability by reducing environmental impact, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of Thai fruits in premium international markets.
This achievement reflects the strong potential of interdisciplinary research collaboration between Thai universities in addressing global challenges through innovation. It highlights the integration
of agricultural and engineering expertise to deliver practical and sustainable solutions with international impact.
The research team also expresses their sincere appreciation to the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) for its support in enabling their participation on this global stage, contributing
to the advancement of Thailand’s research and innovation ecosystem.
Mae Fah Luang University remains committed to advancing research and innovation under its vision of becoming a “University of Well-Being and Sustainable Future,” striving to create meaningful
and lasting impacts on society and the world.
