On Friday, September 26, 2025, third-year students from the Agri-Food Logistics Program, School of Agro-Industry, Mae Fah Luang University, participated in an educational field visit to Chiang Rai Homemade
Ice Cream Company, the producer of the “Happy Plus” ice cream brand. This visit was part of the teaching and learning activities for the course Agri-Food Processing.

The objective of the field visit was to enhance students’ understanding of real-world food processing operations, with a particular focus on ice cream production. Students observed key production processes including raw material selection, ingredient mixing, pasteurization, freezing, packaging, and quality control at each stage of the production line.

In addition to technical knowledge, students learned about product development strategies, flavor design to meet consumer preferences, and brand identity preservation. They also gained insights into sustainable business succession through the continuation of a family-owned enterprise. The company generously shared their experiences in the food industry and provided valuable career advice, which helped students better understand potential career pathways and consider future planning after graduation.

This field visit was a meaningful out-of-classroom learning experience that effectively connected academic theory with practical application in the food industry. It significantly contributed to preparing students for future careers in food production, product development, and food business management with greater confidence and competence.
